Manufacturing

These modules will help you effectively manage the flow of goods to satifsy customer demands at multiple operating locations. This suite lets you take control of your business - and profit from all your hard work.

The Online Advantage Manufacturing module maintains and calculates information on all components, assemblies and sub-assemblies required for a given manufacturing process.

This module keeps records of materials, sub-assemblies, labour and setup time and even lists instructions for each operation of the process. The Manufacturing system interfaces with the Online Advantage Purchasing, Order Entry and Inventory module for stock levels and re-order triggers. It calculates from the latest costs of goods, with a comprehensive product availability analysis, before issuing orders. There are three separate systems to the Manufacturing module – Bill of Materials, Work Order Processing and Product Costing.

Features

  • The Bill of Materials system accepts manual, automatically generated (from the Inventory System) or Planned (from the Supply Chain Management system) work orders to replenish stock.
  • Material requisitions from Bill of Material create manufacturing requirements to be recorded against Inventory. Inventory is automatically updated as manufacturing progresses.
  • The Work Order system controls and reports material commitment, material requisition, material availability, materials issued with optional substitutions and production entry with variance reporting.
  • Satisfy Sales or Replenishment Orders through Inventory Control as information is used to control the manufacturing process including the automatic generation of Work Orders of Kit Assemblies for finished product or sub-assemblies.
  • The manufacturing replenishment method fir an inventory item can be defined as “Non-Stock Work Order” and when a Sales Order is entered a manufacturing order may be dynamically created to manufacture the ordered product as an “indent” order that relates to the Sales Order.
  • Packaging materials may optionally be incorporated into the product cost calculation.
  • Detailed postings to the General Ledger for Materials, Labour, Overhead, Other Charges and Manufacturing variance take-ups identify where unforeseen costs arise.
  • The Product Costing system provides a comprehensive: "what if" facility for the control of specifications, overhead percentages, labour rates and prices.
  • Specifications include bill of materials, bill of labour, setup times, manufacturing instructions, load centres and handles unlimited levels.

Functions

  • What-If Specifications provide the ability to model manufacturing costs based on changes to materials, labour, overhead and other charges component costs
  • Comprehensive range of Enquiries and Reports help the user to establish the status of manufacturing operations. Nominated products are shown with breakdown of costs with totals for labour, materials, setup and overheads.
  • A comprehensive re-cost report shows details of old unit cost, new unit cost, old selling price and new recommended selling price
  • The re-cost function provides a cost change report and includes a suggested new selling price. This facility is extremely efficient compared to traditional system
  • Links to the Time Cards Module to record actual labour costs and calculate labour variances when a work order is processed
  • The Material Costing facility tracks the latest replacement unit cost as recorded in the Purchasing system. It also holds standard unit costs
  • Repack Specifications provide the ability to “decant” bulk production quantities into the units of measure employed for marketing the product
  • Batch sizes may be for a fixed quantity, Variable or in Multiples of a nominated quantity to permit tighter control over work order quantities.
  • Multiple variations of a Specification may be defined based on the Site, the Load Centre, the Price List or the Version assigned to each one allowing for factors such as regional or seasonal differences to be accounted for in costing the a product.
Work Order Status tracking, completed “stage” recording and notes facility for reporting progress

Benefits

  • This module eliminates the need to run and maintain separate spreadsheets to calculate the costs of finished product
  • Experience the benefits of real-time stock availability on raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished product
  • Get your factory “online” so you can see what they are doing and where work is up too
  • Use the “real” cost of manufactured products with a real-time interface to the latest costs of sub-assemblies and raw materials
  • Save time each month on the financials as all the Manufacturing activity will be automatically posted to your General Ledger for you through the month
  • Bill of Materials system provides you with a history of the different costs to manufacture your finished product
  • Keep ahead of the market with the ability to do costing simulations with different raw materials, machines and labour to monitor the benefits to your manufacturing process
